Rediscovering Conscious Energy (Part-1)-The Spiritual Foundation
The Alchemy of
Thought: From Rational Mind to Enlightened Soul
In the ancient wisdom
of the Sanskrit verses, we find a precise map of human evolution: “Purification
of the mind and the tempering of physical urges lead to sublime truthfulness.
Truthfulness fosters deep rationality, and profound rationality awakens the
soul” .
But how does this
ancient architecture apply to the modern mind? It begins with understanding the
difference between a thought that merely exists and a thought that truly powers
a life.
The Two Origins:
Mind vs. Soul
Every creature is
blessed with a conscious power, but its quality changes depending on its source.
- The Fluctuating Thought: This originates in the mind. It is often
singular, reactive, and restricted to basic survival or biological needs.
- The Determined Thought: This originates from the soul. It is
firm, resolute, and capable of encompassing the entire universe—much like
the eternal principles established in the Gita.
While the mind
possesses "Conscious Intelligence"—the natural ability to recognize
if a thought is positive or negative—it is often too weak to hold that thought
in its pure state.
The Evolution of
Desire
A thought is born
pure. However, as it dwells in the mind, it begins to expand, absorbing our
unsatisfied urges and altering itself based on our circumstances . This is the
critical moment of transformation:
- The Thought: A neutral observation.
- The Attachment: Emotions begin to "stick" to
the thought.
- The Descent: Through lack of contemplation, the
thought hardens into an urge, a want, or a compulsive need.
To prevent this
descent, one must utilize sustained meditation to "detect and
uncover" these attached emotions before they change the character of our
consciousness .
The Biological Echo
We are not just
spiritual beings; we are biological ones. The relationship between the heart,
mind, and body is a living feedback loop. Our habits and attitudes dictate how
our physical form reacts to our internal state.
- Bliss: When the heart rejoices, the face physically brightens.
- Toxicity: When we succumb to rage, the toxicity
level in our blood actually increases, clouding our moral judgment.
- Obscurity: When greed or "cupidity"
overtakes the psyche, the ethical boundary between right and wrong
vanishes.
Conclusion: From
Atman to Jivatma
Every action we
perform—principled or otherwise—leaves a residue. Desires underlying these
actions come to "dwell" on our soul, transforming the pure Atman
into the Jivatma through the cycle of experience .
To rediscover our
conscious energy, we must return to the source. By purifying the mind and
limiting the urges that cloud our rational thinking, we allow the soul to once
again become the seat of the "Paarbrahma"—the ultimate, enlightened
consciousness .
